Avon/Avon Lake Republican Club

Avon/Avon Lake

Doug Dixon, Chairman

Chairman Doug Dixon and his wife Beth have been Avon Lake residents since 2003.  As Chairman of Avon and Avon Lake Doug brings over 30 years of business experience managing teams and distribution partners covering United States and Canada for leading IT, IOT and print technology companies.  Their two children, Julia and Adam thrived in Avon Lake schools and now attend their alma mater, Kent State University.  A proud Republican moment for the family was when Adam in his senior year was voted most conservative.  A phrase used often around the family, don’t complain about something unless you are prepared to do something about it, was used around them a lot. In 2015 while listening to a Trump interview Doug said, “hope Trump wins, our country needs him and we are in trouble without him.”  Guess what the kids said back?  Following his own advice, in 2015 Doug joined the Trump Campaign going door to door and met several other residents of Avon Lake who were part of the Avon / Avon Lake Republican Central Committee. This involvement led to a Precinct Leader position and then Area Chairman in 2021.

He is grateful for all the help and support of the hardworking Precinct Leaders, Auxiliary and Club Members who strive to make a difference to further Republican values and candidates.  Neighbor to Neighbor, we get out the vote.

Letters to the Editor:

12/18/2023

GOVERNMENT SUPPORT FOR TERRORISM: Our Legislators should NOT provide any government-funded educational support, including any scholarships or grants for those students who promote racism, antisemitic bigotry, and support terroristic organizations, as designated by the US Dept. of State, including Hamas, that takes hostages and slaughters innocent civilians. Instead, we should reserve our state schools and grants for students who respect our democracy and constitutionally protected freedom.

State colleges’ and universities’ admissions departments and the scholarship-granting divisions should not provide any financial benefits to students who demonstrate evidence of supporting terrorism; memberships, publications, social media and public demonstrations. In addition, the Federal Student and Exchange Visitor Program of the US Dept. of Homeland Security for student visas should be notified of any actions by government educational agencies on those guilty students. This extreme behavior must be addressed. President of Avon/Avon Lake Republican Club Tomie Patton Ratherred@outlook.com;  (440) 308-8954; 32368 Regency Ct , Avon Lake 44012
