Chairman's Message

Last week, Lynne Christner, Chairman of our Lorain-Sheffield Republican Club, was unexpectedly hospitalized due to an aneurysm. She is slowly recovering and needs our prayers. I’ll keep you posted on her progress.

Her family thanks us for our prayers and expressions of support.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE 4 YEARS MAKES

In the 2018 mid term elections, Ohio barely went red by winning the five state offices. Unfortunately, Republicans lost 2 Supreme Court justice seats. And Senator Sherod Brown was easily re-elected.

In Lorain County, Democrats won every race except for 3: Nathan Manning, state senate, Gayle Manning and Dick Stein, state representatives. That was all.

This year, our party flipped the results completely. Our five state office incumbents who lost here in 2018, led our ticket with double digit wins. And Manning, Manning and Stein were also re-elected by double digits. Never mind , Red Wave, Can we say, Red Tsunami?

Although state representative Miller and county auditor Snodgrass won, it was only by four and five points. Surprisingly, Scott Stevenson upset incumbent 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Teodosio.

The biggest upset was our rookie candidate Jeff Riddell upsetting incumbent Lundy by 136 votes. This gives Republicans full control of the Lorain County Commission.

My biggest thanks to our entire team, our leadership, our volunteers, and especially our Freedom Circle and contributors.

Now, on to 2024!
