Chairman's Message

We’re still sorting out the voter data for the General Election, nationally and locally. Off hand, I see many positives, especially for Ohio and Lorain County.

What is especially encouraging is the increase of Hispanic voters in Florida, Texas, and other states, perhaps even in Ohio.

Locally, we have an outreach group HISPANOSUNIDOSGOP, that meets the 3rd Saturday of the month, 8:30am at George’s Restaurant in Elyria. This past Saturday might have been our best yet. We had four new members, two of whom were 17 and 18 year old Amherst High School seniors who came with their dad, Wilmer Perez. It was a pleasure meeting and hearing from them talk about their academic interests and political awareness. We have a lot to look forward to with well-read and articulate young adults like those in attendance at our meeting.

We all still eagerly await the results of our County Commissioner's race, hopeful for a Jeff Riddell victory.
