LCRP Newsletter 11/01/2022

Chairman's Message

One week from today we will be casting our ballots if we haven’t done so already. According to the Lorain County Board of Elections, 40,089 have already voted Early or have requested an absentee ballot.  Of these, 16,728 are nonpartisan, 14,387, Democrat, 8,956 Republican, 18 other. At this point four years ago, 34,026 had voted. Historically, Democrats prefer to vote Early or Absentee while Republicans prefer to wait and vote until Election Day. Two years ago, Early and Absentee numbers exceeded 60,000, again mostly Democrats and Nonpartisan. But Republican turnout Election Day made the difference as we turned Lorain County Red. I have expectations that the same pattern will prevail this year. And I also believe that many of those voting Democrat and nonpartisan to date have cast votes for our Republican candidates, beginning with Governor Mike DeWine.

We have a strong Republican ticket from top to bottom which gives every one of our candidates a possibility of winning. Unfortunately, Judge Darrel Bilancini is one of two candidates not identified as Republicans. Sarah McGervey, candidate for the State Board of Education, also has no party affiliation. Please tell your family, friends, and neighbors that they are Republicans and deserve their votes.

Many thanks to all who have voted already, as well as those who will vote on Election Day. And a huge thank you to all our volunteers who have actively participated in helping our candidates thus far. Let’s keep our pedal to the metal until 7:30pm next Tuesday. And remember, Take…NO…Prisoners!

David Arredondo - Executive Chairman - LCRP
