Chairman's Message

TWO WEEKS TO GO

Almost two weeks ago we began Early and Absentee Voting as well as opening our headquarters. I want to thank Don Killinger for overseeing our headquarters, making sure our phone is answered in real time, ensuring the HQ is staffed, and ensuring that our candidates’ signs are stocked. Many thanks to our Area Chairs and their volunteers for the staffing. We will be open this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday as well as the following weekend.

A big shout out to Tomie Patton for organizing the volunteers giving out our strip tickets at the Board of Elections. As expected, more Democrats are choosing to vote Early and Absentee than Republicans and Independents as in 2018 and 2022. Despite the huge discrepancy in numbers in 2020, Republicans held our fire until Election Day when we swamped the Democrats and carried the county. I certainly expect that we will do the same this year.

On this week’s calendar, I will be the guest speaker at the YR monthly meeting, Wednesday, 6pm at HQ. Topic: The Role of the County Chairman.

Saturday the HISPANOSUNIDOSGOP group will hold its monthly meeting Saturday October 29, 8:30am at George’s Family Restaurant. The topic: “Latinx is Not an Acceptable Term and Must Be Stopped.”

Last but not least, we still need Election Day workers who will be paid $150 to hand out our strip tickets. If interested, please call our HQ, 440-204-9918.

I Hope to see you somewhere this week as we work to elect our entire ticket this election.

Now - November 7th the HQ in Lorain will be open from 9AM-4:30PM.
Come in to get signs or literature to hand-out in your community!
WE HAVE STRIP TICKETS!!!

EARLY VOTING HOURS at BOE:

October 25-28: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

October 29: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

October 31: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

November 1-4: 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

November 5: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

November 6: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

November 7: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

SIGNS: Our headquarters has signs for our November candidates. If you wish to have any of them.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We need volunteers to stand outside the BOE to hand out strip tickets for 2-3 hours daily.

ELECTION DAY WORKERS NEEDED: We need paid workers to stand outside polling locations county-wide for the purpose of handing out strip tickets on Election Day. This involves working from 6:30am to 7:30pm. All workers will be paid $150.00.

OUR GUST SPEAKER WILL BE JUDGE T. JANAS (RETIRED), WHO SERVED AS A FEDERAL IMMIGRATION JUDGE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HE WILL SPEAK TO THE MANY CHALLENGES OF IMMIGRATION, HIGHLIGHTED BY HIS EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL STORIES. IT'S ALWAYS A HUGE PLUS TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WHO 'HAS BEEN THERE'.
